It’s all about love...
Raw Man became a musician at 13 and immediately began composing and producing his own music. From that moment on, he has always followed two distinct styles : rock and electro. His first records were released by the two record labels of Daft Punk : “Roulé (Scratché)” and “Crydamoure”. He formed the genre defining French Touch outfit, The Buffalo Bunch with Play Paul and used various pseudonyms for his following projects such as We In Music and For The Floors before creating his own label “We Rock Music” to devote to his own house / electro music. Later on, Raw Man released Wargame through Kitsuné Records. However, for the last four years Raw Man has been hard at work with his mystical rock group Amen Birdmen and working with Yann Destal to create the dreamlike Priors.
In the midst of all of this, he met Blanche. Author, journalist and TV director, Blanche had been making a documentary on the music industry crisis and the online music phenomenon from the viewpoint of different musicians and people working in the music industry. She dedicated a part of the documentary to Amen Birdmen, and met Raw Man whilst shooting the film. Two months later, on the first of May, a French holiday, enveloped by Lily Of The Valley, the couple had their first kiss at daybreak, after one hell of a party. He swept her off her feet. Naturally, she helped him while he was composing, and for her part created TV shows and wrote a novel about predestination, essentially fate Vs free will.
One day while Blanche was singing her heart out in the shower, Raw Man had a brainwave: they should work together in music, just like every other aspect of their lives. In just a few months they had written 14 songs, a blend of the respective styles. Raw Man brought the French Touch and rock to the table, Blanche answered with a Hip Hop twist and natural, feisty vocals. Their first single, United (Join Together) announces Raw Man + Blanche with a grandeur bang, it is an epic seven minute electro assault on your aural senses, and the track is designed to be played LOUD at the club and will no doubt be played in them all around the world. With mixes from Les Petits Pilous, Cryptonites, Edwin Van Cleef, Richie Beretta and one exciting big name mix be announced. United (Join Together) is the first massive underground electro track of 2009 and is already receiving big love & support from the likes of Aeroplane, Alex Metric & Rob Da Bank.

Dance On Glass : the monthly night at NW London's The Westbury continues its rich vein of form by bringing you one of 2009’s breakthrough stars Solo who will be manning the desks and making his Westbury DJ debut at this month’s dance-indie night on Friday 9th October. Solo has compiled an exclusive ‘Dance On Glass’ mixtape for the event, which is available to download here. Solo is a pioneer at the forefront of the new wave of rhythmically infused house music (it’s so pioneering, no one has even labelled yet - hopefully it will stay that way!). The Italian globetrotter has a string of high profile remixes under his belt, in addition to his original tracks ‘Afreaka’, ‘Midgets in Brick Lane’ and ‘People Who Smokes’. Often working with Mowgli, and Bastard Batty Bass’ Hannah Holland, Solo – who describes his sound as ‘Midget House’ - has recently been signed up to Claude Von Strokes label.

Joshua ‘Hervé’ Harvey is not content with being one half of The Count & Sinden or one to rest because he has become a remixer nonpareil, re-jigging everyone from Bloc Party, Lily Allen and the Chemical Brothers through to Sam Sparro to Mark Ronson, Calvin Harris and The Prodigy. Josh needed an outlet for his awe-inspiring amount of output (under numerous aliases such as Voodoo Chilli, Machines Don’t Care, Speaker Junk, Young Lovers and Action Man) so he set up his own Cheap Thrills Records. He very quickly realised that the label also gave him a place to nurture new, fresh and exciting production talent. Just over a year old the label has already established itself as a leader of the scene and released land-mark records such as the club classic ‘Mars’ by Fake Blood, his own collaboration with Kissy Sell Out ‘Rikkalicious’ and more recently the soon to be massive Jack Beats ‘UFO’ EP. Jeudi 24 Septembre 2009 sort le nouvel EP de Costello sur le label Plasmapool. Ce maxi contient le morceau original "Bitchy Skills" accompagné de remixes de Lazy Rich, Udachi et Liam O’Connol. Il sera disponible uniquement en digital (mp3 & wave) sur la totalité des plates-formes de téléchargement légales (Beatport, Junodownload, Trackitdown…). DJ et producteur bordelais, Costello n’en est pas à son premier coup d’essai. Ayant déjà à son actif trois EP et une dizaine de remixes officiels qui ont reçu un accueil des plus prometteurs, il continue sur sa lancée et signe son 4ème EP chez Plasmapool, le plus gros label électro européen dirigé par Miles Dyson. Son titre, "Bitchy Skills" est un banger dancefloor oscillant entre électro dure et house fidget. La revoilà, updatée 2.0 ! Les mois ont passé, elle a beaucoup tourné à Paris, en France et en Europe (Lyon, Lille, Londres, Bucarest, Amsterdam, Bologne...) et fait désormais partie de l'agence Burning Bridges Music qui s'occupe aussi de One Man Party (le batteur de Soulwax), Rkid ou encore le jeune Bandit. Elle revient donc avec son cartable rempli pour la rentrée 2009. Mademoiselle produit désormais seule, comme une grande. Après avoir travaillé avec Toxic Avenger, elle s'est mise au sur mesure et nous offre son premier titre Discolight, départ d'une longue lignée de tracks. Fidèle à ses sets, elle ne lâche pas son bpm qui ne descend jamais en dessous de 130. Mais ce n'est pas tout ! Steve Aoki (aka Weird Science), the man behind Dim Mak Records and an array of remixes (Bloc Party, The Gossip, Klaxons, MSTRKRFT and The Bloody Beetroots) is releasing his first track under his own name “I’m In The House”. It’s out on the 15th September in the US and features the mysterious [[[Zuper Blahq]]] and comes with remixes from The Count aka Hervé and Gigi Barocco with additional future mixes from LMFAO, Sharam of Deep Dish and pianist Eric Lewis. If that’s not enough he also has a debut album coming out in spring 2010.

Have you ever listened to Joy Division's 'She's Lost Control' and thought to yourself, 'Dude, this song would be so cool if it were updated and played on a dance floor today ? D. Ramirez has done just that, a bootleg of one of his own favorite classic tracks. 'She's Lost Control' was written by British band Joy Division. The song centers on Peter Hook's cool, droning, minimalist bassline formed over a methodical and mechanistic drum beat courtesy of Stephen Morris. Bernard Sumner's guitar work is sharp and clipped and Ian Curtis' lyrics is about a girl having an epileptic seizure ("losing control"). Producing and being inspired by electronic music it seems a natural progression for D. Ramirez to dip his toes in the waters of the music of Joy Division & New Order. The bootleg is definitely different, described as 'Deep, Dark and a Rolling piece of Tech Noir', I think Ramirez has managed to elevate a classic track into the modern music world.

The 14-track sampler, available September 29, features five new hair-raising Toxic tracks, with remixes from Designer Dr*gs, The Juan Maclean, Ladytron, Switch, Acid Girls, Ocelot, Jakwob, Harvard Bass and Burns. The album will be distributed physically for free at all Scion events, various dealerships, and retail shops nationwide. Stepping out of his considerably large Scissor Sister shoes for a brief musical hiatus, 2009 has proved an interesting solo sojourn for Del Marquis. Known around the world as one part of the infamously flamboyant New York five-piece, a break between albums has allowed the singer/songwriter/ guitarist/producer to indulge his own personal musical tastes. Releasing four separate maxi-singles that arguably make up a full artist album, as September swings in, it’s time for the final episode – Runaround. Titular track Runaround oozes with influences of Level 42, Tears for Fears and their counterparts, Marquis’ rich vocals sliding over and through added percussion and piano lines. Lies By The Bed is a horn and piano-infused funkadelic track while Each Time I Reach For The Sun brings the tempo back down for a delicate slice of guitar-led sonic perfection. Del Marquis "Runaround" is released on Embryoroom on September 22nd 2009 on Itunes.

Franz Ferdinand 'What She Came For' is a collection of three remixes of What She Came For off the album Tonight : First up is the spooky danse macbre of Drums Of Death. Fresh off his production work on the I Feel Cream album & going on tour. Part of the celebrated Greco-Roman stable he is about to launch himself big time into the mainstream. Here he bangs WSCF with a big noisy hammer & squelches & squawks into a rhythmic cacophony that those kids can’t get enough of. Finally is Lee Mortimer the celebrated house DJ & Producer. He DJs across the country with his own brand of jittery jump up house. He can be found DJing at Ministry Of Sound, Back To Basic & Custard Factory. Currently he is working on an EP for Switch’s Dubsided label. His mix is a no fucking about killer. Using the shouted chorus refrain he takes no prisoners socking it to the crowd.

Après Talkie Walkie (2004) et Pocket Symphony (2007), Air se prépare à revenir sur le devant de la scène avec un nouvel album intitulé Love 2. Mixé par Stéphane Briat et enregistré à Paris, cet opus a été entièrement produit par les membres du duo, Nicolas Godin et Jean Benoit Dunckel. Disponible dès le 6 octobre 2009, il sera précédé par la sortie digitale de l’extrait Do The Joy le 7 juillet puis par la mise en avant du single officiel Sing Sang Sung le 25 août. Une nouvelle tournée devrait débuter au début de l’année 2010. Air est un groupe français d’électro, composé de Nicolas Godin et Jean Benoit Dunckel. Leurs influences vont de l’ambiante à la disco en passant par la pop. En 1997, le duo sort Premiers Symptômes qui regroupe quatre mini-albums déjà sortis séparément. En 98, Air signe Moon Safari dont sont extraits les deux singles Sexy Boy et Kelly Watch the Stars. Les deux Versaillais deviennent le fer de lance de la très hype "French Touch". En 2000, ils écrivent la BO du film de Sofia Coppola The Virgin Suicides et donnent là coup d’envoi d’une collaboration au long cours. Début 2004, Air revient sur le devant de la scène avec Talkie Walkie, nouvel opus sur lequel on retrouve le titre Alone in Kyoto, synchronisé dans le nouveau film de Sofia Coppola, Lost in Translation. Le mois de mars 2007 est celui du retour du groupe avec un projet intitulé Pocket Symphony.

Joining the ranks of recent I LOVE TECHNO mixes from Boys Noize and Dave Clarke, Italian DJ duo Crookers now provide us with a new live mix to add some bass heavy skewed madness to the occasion. Featuring the likes of Photek, Jesse Rose, Fever Ray, Jahcoozi, Zomby, Osborne, Rustie, Metronomy and the massive Crookers hit ‘Knobbers’ we find the massive Belgian event adding a new element to their bastion of all things electronic. After remixing such huge names in pop and rock Crookers have now gone direct to some of their favourite artists to work alongside on their debut album.
