Felix Da Housecat "Kickdrum"

Fresh off a triumphant headlining party at WMC, Felix Da Housecat is set to return with a brand new batch of dance floor bangers on July 28 with the release of his new electronic opus He Was King. The aptly named lead single “Kickdrum”, which debuts the vocal talents of Nese Djouma, will slam into speakers April 14 on Beatport. The raw and bare track builds around a pounding 808 beat and a bitchslap snare that refuses to relent as Djourna chants “a big fat kickdrum make me wanna get some”. The track is already garnering early support from 2ManyDJs, A-Trak, Boys Noize, Erol Alkan, and multiple spins on BBC Radio 1 from Pete Tong.

Housemeister "Beef Jerky"

After his 2nd album, remixes for Modeselektor, Cassius and Zombie Nation, Housemeister is back on bnr with his new ep “Beef Jerky".100% analog produced techno and breakcore - and as usual outside of any trend. “Who is That Boys", a pure housemeister style banger with a crazy beat programming, is garantied to rock the club. “Beef Jerky” is a dirty breakbeat-core trak and like pedro winter said if it was labelled as chemical brothers people would take it as great track back to the roots. “Rambo” is a tropical beat mix of baltimore, dubstep and techno, “Vakuum” gives you the deeper rephlex techno vibe and last but not least there is “Gehacktes", a cool beat tool for the anti rave night. this record proves that the magic and excitement of electronic music is based on the good old fashioned analog production. word.

The Gossip "Heavy Cross"

Music For Men a été produit par Rick Rubin à Malibu. Le 18 mai à la Boule Noire, histoire de présenter le futur album Music For Men.

The Gossip - Heavy Cross

When the hipsters of 2049 look back through the history books they’ll undoubtedly find two names bolded and underlined : Mark Hunter “The CobraSnake and Todd Selby “TheSelby”, most likely in the chapter titled “The Great Online Photographical Entrepreneurs of the mid-late 00’s.” As both parties are equally responsible for the creation of two of the internet’s most infamous and most visited photography websites. Mark or as he’s known to most, The Cobra Snake, specializes in documenting the underground party culture of the world’s most vibrant cities such as Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, New York and Sydney. Mark has been known to shoot everything from music gigs and fashion shows to book launches and gallery openings (and everything in between). Todd’s photography on the other hand is quite the antithesis to Mark’s. Todd’s forte is shooting the homes of creative industry front runners in the fields of Music, Art, Literature, Design and Fashion. Alexander Wang, Erin Wasson, George Gorrow / Dan Single, André aka Monsieur A,. Yep, Todd’s shot them all. With The New York Times labeling Todd Selby as the modern day “Horst of the Hip Set” and Mark Hunter The Cobra Snake as the World’s #1 party starter. You know something incredible must’ve gone down when you find out that the pair joined their creative forces for their own joint gallery show at the Monster Children Gallery in Sydney.

Pony Pony Run Run Album

TV On The Radio "Read Silence"

Tracklist :
01. Shout Me Out (Willie Isz Remix)

TV On The Radio - Stork & Owl (Gang Gang Dance Remix)

Detachments' debut single ‘Fear No Fear’ was released in 2008 to wide acclaim and strong support from Optimo, Ivan Smagghe and Shackleton amongst other luminaries. It served as a excellent introduction to a band whose influences range from early Factory Records to classic Warp to DFA; a band who meld together the nuance and agit-emotion of post-punk with the dynamic of electronic music. Having been locked in the studio recording their new album with a little help from the Loving Hand of DFA’s Tim Goldsworthy alongside Andrew Weatherall and Trevor Jackson & the hotly tipped Salem, the fruit of this fine melting pot is the new single ‘The Flowers That Fell’, released on This Is Not An Exit Records on April 27th. Whilst ‘Fear No Fear’ dabbled heavily in a stranger soundscape, ‘Flowers That Fell’ has a more definitive pop-edge to it, but is no less interesting. An irresistable, chiming mid 80’s indie guitar melody, an ascending punchy Smiths-esque bassline locked in with DFA-esque drums - hi hats flickering by at velocity all combine to gorgeous effect. Parallels is Cameron Findlay (drummer in Crystal Castles) and Holly Dodson, who provides the backing vocals on this remix.

Fortune "Billy (DJ Sega Remix)"

" Celebrate ", titre inédit ouvre la perspective de l'album " Staring at The Ice Melt ".

Datarock "Dance!"

Burns Remixes

Last week we sent you 'Prom Night'*, a brand new and up-front track from Linus Loves. This week we have not one but two remixes from new talent Burns, signed to LL's new label 21:12. Following his acclaimed reworkings of Late of the Pier and Empire of the Sun, Burns takes 'Prom Night' and tears it apart, turning it into a snarling club monster - total carnage guaranteed. And - bonus alert! - we bring you his massive re-work of current UK No.1 'I'm Not Alone' by Calvin Harris, all high-pitched space bleeps and thumping bass.

Douster "Freak Mode"

Tracks from Buenos Aires french expat Douster have been around on everybody's hard disks and playlists for ever, but thanks to Sound Pellegrino and Dan Haaksman's Man Recordings it is now Douster's time. He is finally getting actual official releases. With “For Weirdos Only” and “Freak Mode”, Douster moves one step away from his early banging fidget works to venture into pure house territory, and the result is a wonky banjo joyride backed with a jacking burst of pure energic groove. Warm and cold, perfect for the early summer days when you can hang out in a tee shirt all day but still have to wear a jacket at night. We asked Das Glow from Institubes (Sound Pellegrino's proud "big brother label") to remix “For Weirdos Only” and in typical Das Glow fashion he named the first draft "Doustin Hoffman" and the second one "Doustin Timberlake". With his final file, he attached a picture of Mr. Potato Head dressed up as a Halloween ghost. On the virtual flip, Momma's Boy (Trouble and Bass alumni Mikix The Cat's housier alias) provides a slow-boiling party-starting version of "for weirdos" ideal for hula hoop training sessions that also works as an introduction to Momma's Boy's forthcoming EP on Sound Pellegrino.

Douster - For Weirdos (Only Original Mix)

Major Lazer (Diplo & Switch) "Zumbi"

Major Lazer is a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. The US military rescued him and repurposed experimental lazers as prosthetic limbs. Since then Major Lazer has been a hired renegade soldier for a rogue government operating in secrecy underneath the watch of M5 and the CIA. His cover is that of a dancehall night club owner from Trinidad and he enlisted the help of long-time allies and uber-producers, Diplo and Switch, to produce his first LP. His true mission is to protect the world from the dark forces of evil that live just under the surface of a civilized society. He fights vampires and various monsters, parties hard, and has a rocket powered skateboard. As part of a plan to subdue the forces of evil with a batch of futuristic dancehall bangers, the three encamped at Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica to record the Major Lazer record. The product of this collaboration is Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do, a collection of tracks that draws from the rich dancehall tradition of Jamaica, the futuristic dance-floor-killing aesthetic of Diplo and Switch, and contributions from some of the biggest names in dancehall today. The record runs global pop culture through the filter of Major Lazer's particular brand of 80's-inspired digital dancehall, at once an homage to a bygone era and a look to the future of dance music. Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do comes out on Downtown Records on June 16th, 2009.

Fenech-Soler "Airbrushed"

Alan Braxe’s (Stardust fame) Vulture label presents the debut single from FENECH-SOLER, The Cult Of Romance released on 11th May. Fenech-Soler produce perfectly distilled post-millennial dancefloor pop. The A-side cut showcases the bands ear for an irresistible melody carried with thick synth sounds, ricochet guitars and economic beats. A chart and dancefloor hit-in-waiting, with its b-side Airbrushed an undoubted late night menace of drilled dystopian tech-pop. Fenech-Soler deliver a deftly accomplished production that confounds their bedroom studio origins. Their dexterous writing and musicianship resonates with the fine suburban pop of Pet Shop Boys, the sparkling live capabilities of Phoenix and Friendly Fires, and the dancefloor igniting electro breakdowns of Vitalic, Justice or The Presets.

Fenech-Soler - Airbrushed

datA "One In A Million"

Ryskee "Leave Me Amor"

Bruce Stallion "Big Black Rims"

Bruce Stallion (formally Black Rabbit) is the new project from Brighton based DJ Floorclearer (Guy Appleton), known for his frantic amen breakcore and for being part of the notorious Wrong Music party crew. Under his new guise guy seeks to meld his love of ridiculous arse shaking bass, the spirit of 90’s hardcore, Amiga game music and hip-hop. Mixing up dubstep, heavy bass and the occasional bit of bassline cheese he aims to make music that pleases the dance floor and the headphone listener by gently tweaking the party centres of the brain. Influenced by the likes of Zomby, Rustie, Drop the Lime and AC Slater, but with a sound and mood of its own, a kinda cough syrup hazed equivalent of the Outrun theme with 90’s rave piano. And lots of bass.

Tiga - Shoes (Official Video)

Saying you feel like Leonard Cohen if he owned a jet ski doesn't exactly describe the sound of your music, so when it comes to Ciao!, the latest album from Tiga (who said such a thing perhaps in jest, perhaps not in a recent press letter), we're left to guess at what the Montreal based producer has in store for the follow-up to 2007's Sexor. Fortunately, the folks at Last Gang unleashed this track, and the witty, snare-heavy electro number should provide a decent clue. Or you could just dance to it. Listen Tiga "Shoes (Radio Edit)" on XLR8R.

Peaches "I Feel Cream"

It would've been reasonable to expect Merrill Nisker, aka Peaches, to undergo some type of thematic transformation on her fifth studio album. After all, from Teaches of Peaches to 2006's Impeach My Bush, Peaches' thematic preoccupation with sex has only become clearer. So now, at 40, would Peaches finally be done with diddling skittles and move on to have her Joni Mitchell moment ? Considering the fact that the title of this album is I Feel Cream, the chances aren't looking good. The album features contributions from Simian Mobile Disco, Drums of Death, Soulwax and Digitalism, so far from going back on her sexually transgressive agenda, Peaches has just recruited friends. Anyone waiting for a content seachange from Peaches can at least take solace in the fact that she appears to have brought her A-game. Street Date : 2009-05-04.

Kikumoto Allstars "House Music"

Hot off the critical and commercial success of previous International Deejay Gigolo single releases “Jack The House” and “House Music” – Melbourne, Australia’s Kikumoto Allstars (aka DJ/Producer Cam Farrar) is back with his long awaited debut artist album House Music. House Music expands on the early glimpses of brilliance his previous singles offered. The thirteen tracks here take us back to the classic Chicago Acid House sound of legends including Marshall Jefferson, Larry Heard, DJ Pierre, Lil Louis and Adonis. This is a journey filled with the finest elements of the classic Acid House sound - screaming acidic 303 basslines, sizzling hi-hats, minimalist vocals and wonderful melodies. Intentionally retro, Kikumoto Allstars’ music is informed by today's dance with innovative arrangements and twisted, peaking crescendos. The Kikumoto Allstars remind us that acid house music is back and bigger than ever ! Kikumoto Allstars music is produced with all analogue synthesizers and drum machines including the famous Roland range (TR-909, TR-808, TR-707, SH-101, Juno range, Jx-8p and of course the TB-303 which started the acid house revolution), paying homage to Tadao Kikumoto, the brains behind these now legendary machines.

Tiga "Shoes (Djedjotronic Remix)"

Musical eccentric, superstar DJ, fashion icon and underground idol, Tiga comes back with full force as he releases his thrilling new single ‘Shoes’, through Different / Pias Recordings on April 20th 2009. ‘Shoes’ is the first single to be taken from his brand new album ‘Ciao’, the follow up to 2006’s hugely influential ‘Sexor’ album. Tiga says of ‘Shoes’ ‘I wrote it about my three favourite things in life: shoes, hair and gloves.’ ‘Shoes’ is a delicious piece of non-conformist and perfectly modern acid-pop. Destined to fill floors and catwalks all over the world, ‘Shoes’ is chic, unique and extremely freaky, laced with mellifluous synths and high couture handclaps, all wrapped up in chords that dream like Debussy. Joe and Will Ask? Mainstage Mini-Mix

Tigerbeat "Tigerbass Vol.1"

Rounding the Tigerbeat pets into a compilation enclosure, Kid606 presents the sound of Tigerbass Vol.1 packed with tracks from C.L.A.W.S, Luke's Anger, Com.A, dDamage, Sickboy, Dolby Anol and Kid606 himself. The Tigerbass oeuvre leaves the avant-mentallism and noisy 'tronica of Tigerbeat's heyday alone for a minute, instead concentrating on club rocking efforts like C.L.A.W.S electro booty-worker 'Canteloupe' with a riff uncannily like Bochum Welt's 'Radiopropulsive' and wicked Saunderson style chords to boot. Luke's Anger provides a metallic battytech smasher on 'Working Overtime', 606's 'Roppongi Sunrise' gets freaky with tht edits on a ghetto jacker house number, Com.A brings the noize on 'Kiss My Ass', and Bruce Stallion/Black Rabbit goes back to hardcore 1992 (albeit a very American 1992) on, err, '1992'. The highlight of the set comes from Genuine Guy on B-More rinser 'Bad People Get Laid' and Eats Tapes saturate the jack on '4 on the floor 2012'. Fans of everyone from kid606 to DJ Assault will love this. Slap dat azz !

The WhateverWhatever

I have something extra dope from the NYC underground scene today. The WhateverWhatever duo comprised of NYC Remixer & club DJ vet Justin Strauss and the man behind the Carlton Bank$ records, Bryan Mette are perhaps the most precise and original remixers out there right now. The quality of their reworking and production is timeless and would work on the dancefloors of The Garage or Studio B. The WhateverWhatever sound is much like their name-an open ended tribute to quality dance music. After collaborating, for the first time, on a 2005 remix of Goldfrapp’s 'Ooh La La' , the pair have turned out remixes for both commercial artists, such as Beyoncé and Alanis Morissette, and more underground acts like Rong/DFA’s Wolfy and TommyBoy’s Plushgun.

Louis La Roche "Me & Her"

With support and plays from Radio 1's Annie Mac and Jaymo & Andy George, a track featured on Channel 4’s Skins, remixes for Team Waterpolo and Don Diablo, and DJ dates in Europe and the US, all in the first three months of this year, Louis La Roche is certainly one to watch for 2009. Louis’ EP ‘Me & Her’ will be released as a Beatport exclusive on 6th April (all other major digital retailers 4th May). Since his identity has been revealed Louis has been in demand for DJ appearances and remixes, and he is currently working on material for his debut album. Remix work includes A-Ha (for a Buffetlibre compilation), Team Waterpolo, Don Diablo, Heads We Dance and The Phantom’s Revenge.
