A 7’’ on Kitsuné ! From Irish exciting new comers Two Door Cinema Club. Really enjoyable melodic guitar pop for a band that is sure to go far ! Two Door Cinema Club : a young, plucky, three piece originating from the seaside resort of Bangor, Northern Ireland making brilliantly hooky, melodic guitar pop. Together for two years, but old friends from school, Two Door Cinema Club released their first EP “Four Words To Stand On” in March 08, selling out straight away in their local areas, alluding to greater things beyond their Irish home. Postal Service, Vampire Weekend and Broken Social Scene seem to come up when people talk about the band’s sound, but of course Two Door Cinema Club (like all the great achievers), are doing their own thing.

Tracklist :

02. Do You Want It All?

Infamous italo-disco producer and legendary DJ Alexander Robotnick is making a fresh assault on dance floors this spring, getting set to send bodies throbbing with his latest release ‘Obsession For The Disco Freak’. Currently residing in Florence, Italy, Robotnick, real name Maurizio Dami, first graced the Italian music scene in the early eighties with dance-cabaret band Avida. He seized international acclaim with cult track ‘Problèmes d'Amour’, a synth driven mix of sonorous beats and interlacing male & female vocals that captivated the dance scene of the mid- eighties.HeavyFeet mash squelching basslines with a musical tidal wave of dance genres, to create a mix set to resonate the dance floor, with disco aficionado Andy Blake of Dissident Records stepping away from his vinyl for a moment to round off the package nicely with a fifteen minute epic. Street Date : 20 April

NEW YORK – Here’s a little something you should know about. It’s underground sensation Dada Life and their just-released “Happy Hands & Happy Feet” EP. The boys are dropping this bomb in advance of their debut artist album Just Do The Dada (set for release later this spring / summer) and decided to offer you lovely people a download of the title track free of coinage. The brainchild of Stockholm-based Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom, Dada Life doesn’t care about genres. They don’t care about smartness. They don’t care about the things you care about. Dada Life just wants to make you jump up and down. Then make you crash into a wall with a smile on your face. That’s exactly what’s gonna happen upon listening to the“Happy Hands & Happy Feet” EP. The original’s got a totally unique with a dirty 4/4 beat, bleepy effects and some truly warped vocals. Just download the tracks and see for yourself. On the remix front Dada Life secured the talents of Malente, Alex Gopher, Moonbotica and Phatzoo for some twisted alternate versions of the track. “Happy Hands & Happy Feet” is out now on The Hours. Be on the lookout for Dada Life’s debut artist CD Just Do The Dada this spring/early summer.

Filthy Dukes emerge wired and blinking from the shadows of nocturnal London to bring you their debut album Nonsense in The Dark, out now on Fiction Records. Recorded on the mixing desk of producer and Krautrock legend Conny Plank (the very desk that Kraftwerk used to make those albums back in the day), Nonsense In The Dark showcases Filthy Dukes’ unique, analogue electro-indie-kraut-pop. Their songs encapsulate their wide-ranging love of music, bearing the faint echo of their collective influences (Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, Chemical Brothers, Tangerine Dream) and nods to many of the artists to have passed through their legendary Kill Em All club night. Taken from the debut album, 'Light Skips Cross Heart' features Tim from the Dukes on vocals.

Blatta & Inesha "Revolution"

Leaders of the Italian electro-fidget front, Blatta & Inesha return on Hell Yeah Recordings for a new special 12” double A side with killer artwork by resident Hell Yeah design maestro, Neverending. ‘Revolution’ rocks like a baby doing overtime in the cradle. This is the ultimate Sicilian stomper. Peppered with hip-hop influenced tricks and energy fuelled grooves, ‘Revolution’ has been included by NYC’s booty bass anti hero, Drop The Lime aka Luca Venezia into his latest mix for FACT magazine and has been getting massive props from fellow DJs and friends alike. On the flipside side, the duo team up in the studio with hotly tipped Italo legend, Congorock (Fool’s Gold Records) to crunk it up with ‘Stepoff!’ and ‘People’. A double whammy of raved up goodiness, stoked with incendiary bass line driven grooves and a huge sense of Italian humour. Just in time to re-define the Italian fidget formula for 2009. ‘Revolution’ and ‘Stepoff!/People’ will be released on Hell Yeah Recordings on 25th May 2009 here in the UK.

Crystal Fighters sign to Kitsune

Crystal Fighters, fresh from inking a deal with infamous, trend setting, french label Kitsune, bring their Basque influenced, bass loaded electro stylings to the remix table. Having nailed a dancefloor version of ColouringIn’s “Robot Restroom”, they take their skills to smashing remixes of Master Shortie and MIT. Both take elements of the originals and fuse them over distorted bass and dirty melodies whilst adding elements that are purely Crystal Fighters, just listen for the accented vocals opening each mix before the drops kick in and take the songs into orbit. Having taken 2008 by storm, with a live Radio 1 session for Rob da Bank alongside headlining Durrr and being placed in Mixmag’s top 100 songs of 2008, the only unreleased track in there, this year looks set to be an even bigger. With Xtatic Truth set to be released through Kitsune in May as well as being featured on the forthcoming Kitsune Maison 7 compilation, released 23rd May, 2009 looks set to be conquered by the basque-influenced, bass laden, ‘folktronica’ stylings of this brilliantly insane group. While “I Love London” will finally be getting it’s much anticipated release in proceeding months.

Andre at Hotel Amour

The Selby has just updated their site with images of Andre at the Hotel Amour in Paris, France. The hotel was once a pay-by-the-hour jumpoff, but has since been transformed into something special by the folks behind the Le Baron nightclub. The rooms have been decorated by artists with Andre being one of them. Anyway, The Selby has once again done an amazing photo shoot and this one is probably one of my favorites. See the rest of the images over at The Selby.

Brand new wax from Dim Mak. Bloody Beetroots enlisted Dim Mak owner/celebrity DJ/Man about town Steve Aoki to lay down vocals on these cuts. Before your imagination runs wild, let me burst your bubble and say that no, he's not rapping. In fact Aoki's vocals are pretty sparse, taking a back seat to the massive wall of synths on "Warp 1.9." On the flip Mr. Beetroots continutes the rave-attack by layering 8-bit synth sounds over an acid-house bass line and thunderous kicks on "Warp 7.7"

Redman "I Hold The Crown"

On the heels of the Roy Davis Jr. remix release, Scion once again taps into the global underground music scene to bring audiences the freshest compilations off its in-house record label, Scion A/V. This April, Italian fidget house and electro DJ/producers Nic Sarno, His Majesty Andre and Gigi Barocco each infuse their own flavor of pumping bass rhythms to Redman’s previously unreleased track “I Hold The Crown” for “Scion A/V Remix : Redman.” “Scion A/V aims to create something completely unique with each remix series and this release fuses Italo legacy with North American hip-hop” said Jeri Yoshizu, Scion sales promotions manager. “Artists like Redman aren’t afraid to venture outside their comfort zone. Teaming his talents with Italo electro producers brings new energy to his signature style, and our audience receives cutting edge tracks.” Beginning April 21, 2009, “Scion A/V Remix: I Hold The Crown” will be available for purchase at all major online retailers and distributed at special Scion-sponsored events.

Danger "EP II"

2 - 7h46

Don Diablo, who was most recently dubbed as "the busiest man in electronic music" seems to be living up to that title. This time around he teams up with UK rapper Example for the party stormer "Instant Replay". This is the first sneak peak of what the two have been cooking up together in the studio. Expect some more hot releases in the next few months. Aside from collaborating together, Don Diablo is also producing part of Example's forthcoming album together with Chase & Status, Calvin Harris, MJ Cole and others and he remixed his forthcoming single "Girl Can't Dance", which is getting support from all of the big players at this moment. Want to see the two boys live. If you're in Miami for the WMC, catch them Thursday March 26 either at the IDMA's or at Areo Bar Miami for a promotional show.

Le New York de DJ Mehdi

This is a guaranteed ghetto dancecore winner as Andro Carvalho, João Barbosa, Rui Pité (aka Buraka Som Sistema) give the sound of Kuduro some bass and some MIA attitude. The two-part Portuguese, one-part Angolan trio re-invented the techno Kuduro sound after a pilgrimage to Angola and a €50 video the one with all the street kids body poppin’. Surprise to see no Diplo on the remix (see Decent Work For Decent Pay, Vol. 1 but when you can call in Ed Banger’s DJ Mehdi and upstart Drop The Lime, that makes for a fun 12” in anyone’s books. Drop The Lime hitting out after remixes for Toro Y Moi and Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip gets industrial warehouse sized buzzin’ bee dubstep-tech. Strange then that DJ Mehdi’s ‘Sound Of Terror’ is quite light by comparison as it’s more cinematic. That said, current favourite is Lil’John’s Moonwalk BITA bounce mix that you can’t help movin’ to drop !

Yuksek "Extraball (Breakbot Remix)"

Apes & Androids "Radio"

Where some bands see a limit to their ambitions and stop, Apes & Androids see that limit, check it out, and then keep on going, creating something new and wonderful with every step. Apes & Androids are Brian Jacobs and David Tobias two old school friends who share the same obsessive spirit for both musical exploration and indulgence. Their songs recall the operatic, over the top nature of Queen and ELO, whilst rubbing shoulders with Ziggy-era Bowie. Other tracks see influences of Prince added to the equation. The Police and Talking Heads lurk in the background too, making their debut album Blood Moon an incredible musical journey, underpinned with a keen pop sensibility. Apes & Androids' UK debut show will be at Adventures In The Beetroot Field at Fabric, London, on 9th April. Taking the same headline slot that Neon Neon filled last year, the band is throwing itself in at the deep end straight away. It promises to be one of the most talked about debut shows for a long time... Live, they are audacious, and believe in the spectacle of rock n roll.

Peaches "I Feel Cream"

Dub Police head honcho Caspa will release his debut album later in the year. Alongside fellow DJ/producer Rusko, Gary McCann mixed up Fabric's first ever dubstep compilation on Fabriclive 37, and he will return to the CD format in May. His throttling basslines and dance floor-geared style have become popular with DJs and home listeners alike, but you can expect something a little different from the album, which is entitled Everybody's Talking, Nobody's Listening. In a somewhat unexpected turn, McCann has roped in dub reggae legend David Rodigan to introduce the album in his own inimitable toasting style, enthusing "Are you listening ? Because Caspa's playing." There are also plenty of vocal tracks, with Dynamite MC, Beezy, Uncle Sam and Dub Police's own MC Rod Azlan all sharing mic duties. D1 also lends his production talents to "Victoria's Secret" but Caspa is at his most adventurous when he's on his own, with tracks ranging from sub-heavy club bangers to the radio-friendly pop of "Lon-Don City."

Oh Snap "The Bill Cosby EP"

Oh Snap's Bill Cosby (Sweater) EP is here. Featuring 2 bumpin originals (Bill Cosby Sweater and Everyone's a DJ), a wobbly Hostage Mix and a partymore Kazey & Bulldog Mix of said Sweater song and for Everyone's a DJ a bass bin destroying Edu K Mix, Mujava rounds out this package with his township funk. While this EP may be too fat to date, it's damn good for some play. Actually we've had to push the release up of the EP ahead of Act Yo Age's Lucky 13 because of the massive demand for the tracks which has big suppport from the Bloody Beetroots, Sinden, Bag Raiders and Mixhell amongst others.

Bonus The Bloody Beetroots - Warp (Clash The Disko Kids "Mind Warping" Remix)

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is the follow-up to 2006's critically acclaimed It's Never Been Like That, and a release between Glassnote Records and the band's own newly-formed imprint Loyaute. While starting to make Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, however, perfection eluded them, as the band comprised of Thomas Mars (vocals), Laurent "Branco" Brancowitz (guitars), Christian Mazzalai (guitars) and Deck D'Arcy (keyboards) seemed initially unable to find an environment to provide them with sufficient inspiration. After a triumphant worldwide tour behind It's Never Been Like That, Phoenix came back to Paris and tried to figure out where to go next - literally. From attempting to work on a houseboat in the River Seine, to camping out at New York City's Bowery Hotel, to eventually retreating to the Montmartre house of friend Philip Zdar of Cassius to record in his studio, the band constantly challenged themselves to write the album they knew they had in them, but couldn't seem to find, no matter where they went. With Zdar, who co-produced the album (a first for the band, who previously worked with little help from others, hence the undisturbed precision of Phoenix's universe), they focused on the idea of greatness, determined to create something that would be exciting not only to their rabid fanbase, but to themselves. And thus, after a solid year and a half of tedious reworkings and endless going-back-to-the-starts, the record clicked. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, a tongue-in-cheek title meditating on the idea of "classic and upstart," was born. Street Date : 26/05/09

Joe & Will Ask? "Mongozo! EP"

Straight off the back of their Kitsune debut, Joe & Will Ask? turn out an EP of monstrous proportions which is set to cement their position as one of the best new club acts to emerge from London in recent years. They're already firm favorites of Brodinski, who named them his “favourite producers of the moment”, and Benny Benassi recently charted ‘Claymore’ in his Beatport top 10. Joe & Will Ask?’s previous single ‘Claymore’ was released earlier this year on Kitsune, with the track also featuring on the label's Maison comp. Their second release of 2009 is the 3-track ‘Mongozo! EP’, coming out on their home label Gulp Communications. Title track ‘Mongozo’ is a heavy distorted club banger with an obsessive bassline hook that wouldn’t be deemed out of place in a Soulwax set. The second, ‘Shim’, is a tense and dramatic beast and the final number, ‘Merrygo’, is a moodier track with dark undertones and a tech feel. Each song shows a different side the duo, from dirty to deep, all skillfully executed.

Tracklist :
01. Mongozo
02. Shim

Circlesquare "Hey You Guys"

"Hey You Guys"
The new single from CIRCLESQUARE
released April 7th, 2009.

Circlesquare's new album Songs About Dancing And Drugs is a veritable box of surprises, and the stunners just keep coming. Hot on the heels of lead single "Dancers" which featured remixes from Konrad Black and Lowfish, Circlesquare return with "Hey You Guys" backed by remixes from DFA artist The Juan MacLean and Ed Banger's Mickey Moonlight. Taken as a whole, the four-track EP spans a range of moods from the morose to the manic, making an unexpected keystone in the arc from rock to dance music.

"Hey You Guys" the opening track off Songs About Dancing And Drugs, is the perfect introduction to Circlesquare's contemplative and conflicted world. Bathed in cathedral-sized reverb, the song's nimble guitar lines, martial drums, and cavernous ambiance reference an unusual array of musical touchstones blissed-out shoegaze, Seefeel's electronic dub, Fugazi at their most precise. Shaw's lyrics, meanwhile, paint an ambivalent picture of club culture's turn-ons and drop-outs a litany of regrets wrapped up with the invigorating chorus, "This is it/ This is ours/ Here we go."

The Juan MacLean has clearly taken the latter sentiment to heart, turning in a slow-burning powerhouse amped up on acid oscillations and overdriven drums. If Songs About Dancing And Drugs is a look back at the wild life, the remix is a snapshot of dance-floor mayhem in full flame. The Juan MacLean is no stranger to the groove his cuts like "Give Me Every Little Thing" and "Happy House" plus remixes for the likes of Daft Punk, Matthew Dear, and Roy Davis, Jr., have become club staples for the way that they bridge the worlds of disco, house, and rock. This time out, he turns up the tension with a peak-hour stormer that creeps along at a death-disco BPM. Circlesquare's music has never been stranger to the pleasures of the slow and low, but MacLean sheds the languor in favor of a methodical, machine-fueled grind that's lubed with sweat. Both versions of the remix, vocal and instrumental, are simply mammoth.

Tracklist :
A1 Hey You Guys (The Juan MacLean Remix)
A2 Hey You Guys (Mickey Moonlight Remix)
B1 Hey You Guys (The Juan MacLean Instrumental)
B2 Hey You Guys (Original Version)

Kid606 "Mr. Wobble's Nightmare"

In the early 1990's there was one major threat to ravers being flaunted by the mainstream media concerning rave culture and illegal drug usage while dancing : death by overdose ! Now the year is 2009 and with rising food costs and the always possible late night zombie outbreak, Kid606 is concerned about an all new threat to ravers and club-goers : death by...Cannibalism ! You might have a hard time sleeping at night with the ominous vocals by Jamie Stewart (Xiu-Xiu) that echo and reverberate throughout the song to inform you of your children's doom. Mr. Wobble's Nightmare is a hardcore gnarly bass techno-wobble wake-up call to all kids and parents who think they are safe ! Joining 606 on this much needed public service announcement are bangin' remixes from rising underground stars Kanji Kinetic (London - Rag and Bone/Electrostimulation), Mikix The Cat (Paris - Trouble & Bass), Acid Jacks (Melbourne - Idiot House/Trouble & Bass), The Squire of Gothos (Sheffield - Electrostimulation), Dolby Anol (Glasgow - Backyard, Tigerbass). Sneaky Sound System - 16 (Tommie Sunshine's Class of 89 Re-Rub)

Hot on the heels of Tommy Sparks’ killer debut single ‘I’m A Rope’, playlisted by XFM and hammered by the likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank, Sara Cox & Steve Lamacq on Radio 1, comes his out of the box smash hit ‘She’s Got Me Dancing’. Like Chic jamming with MGMT and Franz Ferdinand the forthcoming single is a brazen dancefloor assault. The Yuksek remix of ‘I’m A Rope’ has become a bonafide indie dance anthem, and the new single certainly lends itself rather well to remixes … well you can’t go wrong with a title like this ! An incredible package comes care of Disco Bloodbath, Mowgli, Heartbreak & Freelance Hellraiser. In other news, Tommy and Liam Howlett (The Prodigy) went into the studio and created the awesome number ‘Disko Punk’ that will be featured as part of the new Prodigy album package. Tommy has also remixed the new White Lies & Lady Ga Ga singles. Tommy Sparks’ debut album is out May 11th on Island Records.
