Mad Cobra, and it was originally released as a single in Sweden in 2006 (Sthlm is short for Stockholm, it's a very common practice in Sweden to abbreviate the name of all its cities !). It even got a Stateside release the same year via Big Beat/Atlantic.

Welcome to the world of We Have Band. The London-based three-piece that have everything going for them despite having been together for little over a year, not had any releases to their name (yet) and played just 20 live gigs. Described as a ‘disco rock trio’ who ‘wear their influences like a flak jacket’ they are Darren Bancroft (vocals, drums, percussion, sampler), Thomas WP (vocals, guitar, bass, programming) and Dede WP (vocals, percussion, sampler).
Having all originally met at EMI, it was just last year that married couple Thomas and Dede informed Darren about the name of a new band they’d created and as Darren says, “basically on the strength of the name I was like right I’m in!” Having recently had their tracks ‘Hear It In The Cans’ and ‘You Came Out’ featured on Kitsune Maison 6 and the Puregroove compilation, their debut single ‘Oh!’ is out in November on super hip indie 50 Bones.

La même année, il produit le titre Radar Rider, qui est également le premier EP distribué par la maison de disques Ed Banger. LFO est un groupe de musique électronique anglais. Ils composèrent leur premier morceau, simplement intitulé LFO, et le confièrent au DJ Nighmares on Wax. La popularité de cette démo dans les clubs, la conduit à être publiée par le label Warp Records en 1990 et se vendit à plus de 100 000 exemplaires.

* I have just finished remixing Cut Copy's 'Far Away' under the moniker of my band i.e. 'Cut Copy - Far Away (Damn Arms Remix)'. Out with the single 12" on vinyl, CD & digital in the coming months.
* The first 12" of Gloves orginals is to be released in January on Bang Gang 12"s - two originals & a remix from a Boys Noize artist i'll leave undisclosed for now.
* My band/duo 'Damn Arms' first release for 2008, a 12" on Bang Gang 12"s with two originals, followed by a second 12" full of remixes from some big beautiful names we all know and love.
* Feb/March Damn Arms will be releasing a third 12" on Cut Copy's own label 'Cutters'. A fantastic roster they have going with Knightlife, Midnight Juggernauts, K.I.M. & now Damn Arms.
Yann Destal (Modjo) started to learn music with the flute at the age of 5. He then started to write music, moving onto the piano and the clarinet. Yann joined his first band at 11, as the drummer. Soon he could record his own songs with a 4 tracks recorder playing and singing everything himself. And played in a lot af bands through his teenage years and went into the "American School Of Music" in Paris. He has made a couple of albums before forming Priors with Raw Man. Raw Man picked up the guitar at age of 13 and started to write songs with his fusion rock band Free Fall when he was 15. Raw Man has since been in a number of bands and made quite a few records on many different labels. Raw Man met Yann over 10 years ago through a mutual friend, but they only started to work together recently. What You Need was the second track they worked on ... and it suddenly came out from the darkness.

Jean Nipon is a man of many hats, hardcore drummer, gabber DJ, remixer of mega French acts like TTC and Adam Kesher, but he's probably best known to Lab heads as the man who produced the now extremely scarce Eurogirls series alongside DJ Orgasmic. Now he steps up with an EP of his own for Institubes, which includes the insistent and ever-building "4WD" the bouncy pixie dust electro of "Lost In Music" and "National Kids" which apparently started as a Kesher remix but eventually turned into this hyperactive chop-up composed almost entirely of fuct wit vocal samples. We like this guy.

David Rubato's Circuit blew up for Institubes last year with its intense, but funky feel (in a Daft sorta way), so of course the only logical thing to do would be to bring on the remixes ! Institubes kinda went all out too, skipping the no-name remixes (for the most part) and bringing big guns like Ed Banger's Mehdi to remix the track into a tough dancefloor worker with attitude. Those drums ! But that's even not the half of it ... Those cosmic disco rockers known as Aeroplane keep the spacey stuff to a minimum and transform Circuit into a sublime slice of retro-modern disco boogie. Just wait for the bassline ... so 1982 ! And if you liked that one, you gotta check Siriusmo's remix which does the boogie thing even harder with killer slap bass, Sparque-esque flanged guitar, and chunky ass synths too boot. Also features the cool Steve Moore remix which makes the drums almost non-existent so you can focus on all the synth work. Recommended for the boogie versions.

En 2002, Ilhan Ersahin à ouvert les portes de Nublu, un club de East Village au coeur de Manhattan. East Village a toujours été un centre artisitique est musical à New York, et ce depuis le début des années 50, et l’objectif déclaré de Nublu est de continuer dans cette voie, et de faire prosperer cette tradition.
Les groupes présents sur cette compliation, tels que Kudu, Wax Poetic, Brazilian Girls, Forro In The Dark, Love Trio ou le Nublu Orchestra dirigé par Butch Morris, ne se sont pas seulement produit, mais se sont tous formés et sont tous nés dans l’enceinte de Nublu. Cette compilation verra le jour le 10 Novembre.

After the dissolution of bouncy 90s Florida punk outfit Discount, lead singer Allison Mosshart moved to London to team up with Brit Jamie Hince. Under the ghost names VV & Hotel, the pair formed The Kills, an indie-rock outfit whose gritty guitar riffs and sexually charged call-and-response vocals captured the attention of Domino Records. Midnight Boom (2008) furthered The Kills reputation as the duo smoothed out the edges while the undercurrent of rock chaos remained.

Originally this was the compilation that marked the best of a year’s worth of releases in the R&S empire that covered numerous sub-labels and musical genres. The phrase ‘In Order To Dance’ became synonymous with R&S, becoming the label’s call of arms and this is being carried into 2008 with this latest revision of the series. Il écrit et réalise 'STEAK', son premier long métrage dans lequel il fait jouer Eric, Ramzy et ses amis. Il compose avec Sébastien Tellier et SebastiAn la B.O. du film et en fait un disque. Il sort en 2007 son premier maxi pour Ed Banger, le fameux Transexual, et produit une série de remixes pour divers artistes (Calvin Harris, Scissor Sisters, Cassius, Jamelia). Il enregistre en 2008 un nouvel album LAMBS ANGER qui sortira le 17 Novembre, travaille sur l'album d'Uffie, et prépare un nouveau long-métrage Realite qu'il projette de tourner courant 2009. Il décède en 2041, usé par toutes ces conneries futiles.

Late Of The Pier s'est formé vers le milieu de l'année 2005, inspiré par quelques escapades au Liars Club de Nottingham où nos quatre compères (encore mineurs) ne décollaient généralement pas de la piste de danse. C'est d'ailleurs là qu'ils ont pu assister aux premières performances de certains Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Cut Copy, Art Brut et autres Scissor Sisters, tout en s'imprégnant de la culture club grâce aux DJs sets d’Erol Alkan et de DJ Hell.
